GET CARTER,GET OVER IT!!

can't believe people are actually crying over that scruffy car park that's well past it's sell by date, numpties are taking wax rubbings of the brickwork,as if to honour some false god, just because Mr Carter thru' Alf (nice name ) Roberts off the top ,some thirty odd years ago does not iconic make, gateshead's in a dreadful state of dis-repair,and the sooner this penny dreadful carbunkle on the landscape comes down, the better :D

watched get carter for the 1st time ever recently never realised how tyneside looked so depressed and scruffy at the time and the car park does stick out like a sore thumb and if its going to rejuvenate a high st that seems stuck in that era then go for it its long overdue

it's not just Get Carter it's famous for, Purely Belter and the Likely Lads were 2 of it's other tv appearances,
i was going to say i dont know why the staff from Gateshead Civic centre didn't use it due to lack of spaces at the Civic, but it was because the staff are too bloody lazy to walk a hundred yards up the road, instead they took over the parking spaces outside peoples homes nearer the Civic telling the people who had parked their cars there for years that they were not allowed too and the spaces were for Civic staff only, cheeky B******s, ill be happy to see the back of that old Tesco, what a scruffy little **** hole that has become over the years.

its a well known fact that most car users wont walk more than 100 yards and all toon hall staff are full of their own self importance so those peasants around the toon hall[ how dare own a car! arent they on benefits?] can go and jump oh also i meant most famous flim the car park was in :)

Well I know what would happen if they told me I couldn't park outside my own house!!!!! They'd be late home every night through having to change their wheel due to a sudden deflation of tyres - I think they'd soon get the message

The reason the car park was unused was the fact that it was structurally unsafe to use it, nothing to do with council staff being lazy

point taken though i thought it was the top decks only and anyway why build tthe toon hall in a built up area with little car parking ? or is it like all councils want to be seen as green but dont practice what they preech ? hence the withdrawal of residents permits?

Is it really true about the staff not letting people park outside their own houses 'cos they want the spaces?

would'nt be surprised, annie, mick henry 'n co blather on abouit the baltic ,if it's that good let it stand on it's own feet and charge an entry fee, the millie bridge 22 million quid glorified footpath that takes gateshead's lion share of the vistor's straight over to Newcastle to spend their money in pubs and eateries ,thru' lack of vision and advertising by gateshead council to the culinary delights curly's bar and the fish shop opposite

It might have been horrible but it was bloody cheap to park in compared to other places in Gateshead Central.

After getting a bollocking off Tescos for parking over the two hour limit and seeing how Wilkinsons car park hiked up the charges after a few hours I always parked there if I was going shopping over the town.

I look forward to seeing the alternative but Im guessing it wont be cheaper or more convenient
